Managing project models

- Now that we have some models glued, we can break down the folder structure of the project and do some administrative tasks. So this video has us going into a project and breaking it down by discipline. We'll then get rid of a couple models we don't want to see anymore. We'll then look at how to delete an entire project. So let's open up Autodesk BIM 360 Glue and let's sign in. Give it a password and away we go. Now under Csos Projects, I'm going to go to my Lynda.com project. Under Models I'm going to click More and what I want to do is I want to add a folder. I'm going to click Add Folder. This folder is going to be called Architectural. I'm going to hit Enter. I'm going to go back to Lynda.com and if we scroll down, notice we have Architectural. I just got an e-mail saying a folder has been added. I'm going to add another folder. I'm going to call that one MEP and I'm going to hit Enter. I'm going to go back to Lynda.com and we have Architectural and MEP. What I'm going to do now is, I'm going to hover over Architectural. I'm going to pick it. I'm going to drag it into the Architectural folder. Would you like to move the model or folder to a new location? You can say No if you're paranoid or Yes if you know what you're doing. Say Yes and it moves it in. Let's go back to Lynda.com. Now I'm going to check Mechanical, SPRINKLER. I'm going to grab these two. I'm going to pick them. I'm going to move them into MEP. Would you like to move it? Mechanical, SPRINKLER, Yes. Let's go back to Lynda.com. Let's add a folder. Let's call that Structural and hit Enter. Let's go back to Lynda.com. Let's grab Structural. Pick it. Let's move it into Structure. Let's say Yes. Now we've got some garbage in this project. So let's go back to Lynda.com. Let's select 3-D. Let's select Structural-2. Now let's right click and let's delete. Are you sure you want to delete these two models? Yes. We have one hanging there, Electrical. We're going to click this and we're going to drag it into MEP. Let's select Yes. And that buzzing you hear is my phone going off. Remember back when we did our Admin, we set it so I got an email after every single little thing was done. Okay. Now let's minimize Lynda.com. See how it's broken down into a folder structure. Perfect. Now what I'd like to do is go after a project and delete it in its entirety. Let's go up to the top and let's go to Projects. Let's go here and go to Csos or whatever your main account is. I'm going to scroll down to Navisworks Project. I want to get rid of this entire project. To do that, however, we need to clear it out completely. So let's go into Navisworks Project. First thing I want to do is click on Models. Let's go into Navisworks. Let's check all of the models. You cannot delete a project unless everything in it is deleted. Check them all, right click. Let's delete. Let's say Yes. Let's right click on that folder now and let's say Delete. You even need to delete the folders. It has to be completely empty. Are you sure you want to delete Navisworks? Yes. Let's go into Navisworks Combined. Let's right click on Navisworks Combined Model. Let's delete it. Would you like to delete it and all its versions? Yes. Right click on the folder and delete the folder as well. Let's say Yes to this. Let's go back up to Csos. I'm going to scroll down to Navisworks Project. Notice that it's empty. Okay. Let's get rid of it. What I want to do now is go to our little icon up here in the upper right hand corner and let's go to Admin. Now let's make sure we're in All Projects. I want to scroll down to Navisworks Project. Notice when we hover over it, we have some choices. We can manage members, we can edit it or we can delete it completely. Let's go ahead and click the Delete button. Are you sure you want to delete it? Click Yes. No trace of it. So keeping your projects organized will help you immensely down the road.
