- Many components like the bearings in this machine are purchased so there's no reason to create geometry or design geometry that you'll simply buy. Autodesk Inventor has a library of over a million parts built into it. It also has a set of tools called Design Accelerators that will help you define which of those standard components is going to work best for your machine design. Let's take a look at how some of these tools work. First, I'd like to place a bolt in my assembly in a set of existing holes. To do this, I can got to the Component panel and tell it that I want to place from Content Center or I can switch the mode of my browser to the Favorites. Inside of my Content Center, I have all sorts of different components from shaft elements such as bearings, clips, rings, I also have a huge library of fasteners. Under Bolts, I can simply go to Socket Head bolts and browse down to the bolt that I want. I'll grab this fastener, drag it out onto the screen. I can move this preview…
