Why use polylines?

- So we're starting a new chapter now in our AutoCAD Facilities Management 101 Areas Course, and we're going to be looking at areas and polylines in this particular chapter. Now, you'll notice that we have a 00_GND_FM_AREAS.dwg file open right now, and you can see that the structural plan has already been linked into the FM drawing. So, if I go to the Insert tab here on the ribbon, go to the Reference panel and just click on that little arrow there, it shows me that I've already referenced in the drawing. So, if I hover over it there, can you see that it's 00_GND_GA_AREAS.dwg? That is in your Lynda.com exercise files. So download both drawings and make sure you reference in the structural plan which is 00_GND_GA_AREAS.dwg, and then rename it as FP using the rename command like we've done in previous videos. The reason we've done that is for our layer management. So, we go the the Home tab here. I'll go to my Layers panel and open up Layer Properties, and you can see that all our…
