What you should know before watching this course

- [Voiceover] So, what should you know before starting the AutoCAD Facilities Management: Occupancy course? Well, the first thing that you should know is that we're using AutoCAD 2017, the latest version of AutoCAD. And it will be a 2013 .dwg file in the exercises that you can download from Lynda.com. Now, we'll go into that in the next video in a little bit more detail about how to use the exercise files. However, what you should know is obviously the version of AutoCAD and the .dwg file format. Now, what you should also know before starting this particular course is that there are two other facilities management courses with AutoCAD. There's Facilities Management: Areas, which is all about areas and rooms. You've got Facilities Management: Space Management, which is all about space management and managing those spaces that were created by the rooms and the areas. Now, we're in course Facilities Management: Occupancy. And what you should know about this course is we're going to be working with the people and the objects that go into those areas and those spaces. And obviously if you've done the previous two courses, that's great. However, this course does stand up as a stand-alone course. The other thing you should really have is possibly a little bit of background in facilities management so that you understand some of the terminology that kicks in during this course. However, I will do everything I can to explain everything that we go through in the course and talk to you about the terminology and how we set everything up in facilities management in AutoCAD itself.
