What you should know before watching this course

- [Voiceover] Before we start jumping into the AutoCAD Facilities Management 101 Areas course, what should you know before starting this course? Well, ideally, it will be nice if you've already got some AutoCAD knowledge. If you don't, don't worry, the course will take you through how to drive AutoCAD whilst working with facilities management. What you also need to know is we are currently using the latest version of AutoCAD in this particular course, which is AutoCAD 2017. If you want to know a lot more about AutoCAD 2017, maybe go and look up the AutoCAD 2017 Essential Training course on lynda.com. That teaches you everything you need to know about AutoCAD 2017, but were afraid to ask. And the whole idea of that essential training course is it teaches you all of the basics. However, this particular course is a concise course about using AutoCAD for facilities management. So don't expect it to teach you absolutely everything about AutoCAD, that's what the essential training course is for. So a prerequisite would be maybe do the essential training first, and then do the facilities management courses. That will be a good learning path to follow. What you also need to know is that all of the files that we create for this particular course are AutoCAD DWG files, the native file format, and they will be stored in your lynda.com exercise files.
