Using the trim and extend commands

- [Instructor] We're staying in our Modifying Objects.dwg file, and what we're going to look at when we modify AutoCAD drawings this time is trim and extend. You'll find them on the Modify panel on the Home tab on the ribbon. And we're going to look at trimming first, and we're going to trim some of these green lines here on the left of the drawing. So I'll go up to the Modify panel. I click on the flyout here and select Trim first, and I'm going to select my cutting edges. My cutting edges are going to be this line here and this line here, and Enter to confirm that. I then get the prompt Select object to trim or shift-select to extend. So when I'm trimming, I can hold down Shift and extend. When I'm extending, I can hold down Shift and I can trim. So they're kind of interchangeable. So I'm going to trim back these parts here. So I want to trim that, trim that, and you click on the bits that you don't want to keep, like so. I then press Enter to finish, and, as you can see, that's all…
