Using WBLOCK
- [Voiceover] Another really great command that you can use in AutoCAD 2017 is the WBLOCK command. Now you'll notice that we've got a whole new drawing open, which is 11_WBLOCK.dwg. Now you can load that up from your Lynda.com exercise files, and you'll find when you open it up, you've got a box standard AutoCAD block there. It's not a dynamic block, and it's on the layer Door. So it's just a regular door block. No flip parameters or actions, just a block. Now, that particular block can be written to its own DWG file using this WBLOCK command. Hence the W stands for "write block." Now, what's the benefit, you may ask, of the write block command? Well, it means that if I've got 600 incidences of this door, I can write them out to their own separate DWG file, edit the DWG file, give it the same name as the block reference in the drawing, and re-edit the block in the drawing. And it's really quick and easy to do. So let's go into the middle of the screen area, like so, and just type…
