Join Shaun Bryant for an in-depth discussion in this video Using Hide and Isolate, part of AutoCAD 2017 Essential Training.
- [Voiceover] We're now going to look at…a couple of really cool object management features…in AutoCAD itself…and these are Hide and Isolate…and what they allow you to do is hide objects…you don't need to see…when you're working on a complex drawing…and isolate objects that you do need to see…when you're working on a complex drawing.…Now we're staying in the 10_ObjectLayerProperties.dwg file…and this is by no way a complex drawing,…but what I'm going to do is use the Hide and Isolate…to demonstrate how these work on a simple drawing.…
You will then understand exactly why…they're extremely useful on a complex drawing.…So what we're going to do,…we're going to work with the bolt,…the green bolt in the middle of the other two elements here.…So we've got the hinge, we've got the bolt,…we've got the keyhole.…Now, it may be that all I want to work on right now…is the bolt and I want to hide…all the other elements in the drawing.…So what I do is I select all of the elements…that I want to isolate in this particular AutoCAD drawing.…
