Using an AutoCAD drawing as a template

- Creating a new template inside of Inventor is very easy. But if you already have an existing AutoCAD template that your users are used to, have all of the attribute information that you're accustomed to, you can simply move that over into Inventor through a very simple process. To do this let's take an existing AutoCAD dwg file that we use as a template. We'll open it inside of Inventor. If we take a closer look at the title block we'll see our default responses to our attributes so we know that that information is there. To make a template out of it all we have to do is use the allocation option, go to Save As, Save Copy as Template, and add this to your templates collection. Another note on templates is that when you go to create a new file you might have noticed that templates are organized among English, Metric, or Mold Design.
