Some clients require the use of equipment InfoTags to show additional design information on a P&ID. Learn how you can easily add these to your drawing.
- [Instructor] Have you worked on a set of P&ID's…where the client places additional equipment info tag…at the top of the P&ID drawing,…which contains additional design information?…In an unintelligent P&ID,…any changes made to the equipment number…would need to be changed manually…in both locations on the drawing.…This means twice the work,…and often drafters forget to change…the information on the other tag.…Let's take a look at how to place multiple tags…on the drawing and still have them linked…to a single value in the database.…So let's go ahead and open our next exercise file,…which is 03_05.…
So let's look on the bottom here,…we'll notice that the equipment tag is for the pump.…We have the option here where we're just placing…the pump info tag close to the pump,…so that we know what that is,…but we don't necessarily want to place…all the information in the P&ID,…'cause when you start to work in a P&ID…with a lot of information it gets congested,…and it's difficult to place the lines…that may need to run around that piece of equipment.…
