Understanding the P&ID tool palette

- [Instructor] All the P&ID symbols, line types and notation blocks that we use to create and edit our drawings are found in the P&ID tool palette. Let's take a look at the different out of the box tool palette options that are available. Let's take a look on the right hand side of your screen to the P&ID tool palette. If we right-click on the top of the palette, you'll see we have a number of options on how we can populate this palette. We can look at the PIP, PID ISO, ISA, and just by choosing a different option we can switch the contents of that palette. I'm going to keep working with the PIP version here. So on the left side of the palette you'll see a number of tabs, and we use this to organize the different types of symbology that's available. We'll walk down and see what we have available. We have Equipment, Valves, Number of fittings Instrumentation, and Non-engineering. Non-engineering is certain notations, spec break symbols that we use. So, also part of the palette is the…
