- Our next task is to build the spokes…that connect this hub with the rim.…Turn all the layers on.…Type, l + a + y + o + n + enter.…Then, zoom out.…Isolate the layers,…by typing l + a + y + i + enter.…Select the spokes, the rim,…and the hub, enter.…Go over to the Layer Manager,…and turn on 3D Spokes,…and set it Current.…This layer already has the rear spokes on it,…but the front spokes are different.…
The hub has a different diameter,…and we have to rebuild them,…in much the same way as we built the rear spokes.…I'm going to pick two of the spokes to model.…Later on, I'll Array them around the circle.…Draw a line.…Trace over one of the spokes.…Trace over its sister spoke, right next to it ...…like that.…
Then, turn off the 2D Spokes layer.…Half of the spokes go through the top flange,…and half of them go through the bottom one.…Draw a line from the endpoint, here, up.…We need to determine approximately…how high that will go.…It looks like it's about maybe 11 1/2.…I'm going to type in 11.5 + enter.…That looks good.…Ideally, this line will be just slightly below the flange.…
