Plotting to PDF

The PDF file or portable document format is one of the most popular ways to exchange documents. Fortunately AutoCAD provides a driver that allows us to print our drawings directly to PDF. In this lesson we'll take a closer look at the PDF virtual printer. On my screen I have a drawing that I'd like to share with a client and the client has requested a PDF file. To print this drawing to PDF I'll move up and launch the Plot command and then in the plot dialog box, regardless of the printer that is currently selecteD. If I want to print this drawing to PDF I can simply open the menu> DWG to PDF. Notice that this is a PC3 file it's a virtual printer that is installed with AutoCAD. Once I've made the selection, that's all I have to do. I can simply come down and click OK, and I will save this PDF using the default file name. I'll save it out on the desktop, and I'll click Save.
