Plotting to the Design Web Format (DWF)

In the event your client does not have a CAD program but would still like to be involved in the design process, you can ship them a DWF file. DWF stands for Design Web Format and a DWF file allows for easy viewing and marking up of CAD drawings. In this lesson we'll print a drawing to DWF. On my screen is an example of a mechanical part and I'd like to send this drawing to a client. In this case, the client would also like to collaborate on this design. So I'm going to plot this drawing as a DWF. To do that I'll launch the Plot command. And in the Plot Dialog box, I'll make sure that the DWF6E plot printer is selected. This is another virtual printer that is installed with AutoCAD. I will then come down and click OK. Since I'm plotting this to a file, I'm going to save it to the desktop. And I'll keep the default file name and I'll click Save. When the final is finished plotting, I'll right-click on the Plot Publish icon and choose View Plotted File. This will open the drawing in…
