- [Instructor] Let's begin by discussing different ways to navigate in 3-dimensional space. The most intuitive, and perhaps most commonly used method, is to hold down the Shift key and drag the mouse wheel. This allows you to orbit. You can also roll the mouse wheel to zoom and drag the mouse wheel to pan, just like you can in two-dimensional drafting. All you have to do is hold down the Shift key and drag the mouse wheel to orbit, so we just have to add one element to our repertoire of navigation skills, to really get around and view objects in 3D. There's an alternative way to do this, and that's over here on the Navigation tool bar, it's called the ViewCube. But if I click on this, nothing seems to happen, and that's because the ViewCube is disabled in the 2D Wireframe mode by default, And that's something that's controlled in the program options.
