Join Shaun Bryant for an in-depth discussion in this video Managing drawings in projects, part of AutoCAD Electrical Essential Training (2016).
- [Voiceover] What we're going to look at now…in this Using Project Files section…of our AutoCAD Electrical course…is how we actually manage the drawings…in the Project Manager itself.…Now in the previous video,…we created the NEWCIRCUIT1.DWG file.…Now what I have done is provided you with…that NEWCIRCUIT1.DWG file in your Lynda.com…exercise files.…So it will appear in the Demo folder…when you download the exercise files as well.…
If you want to overwrite it when creating a new file,…like we did in the previous video,…that's entirely up to you.…It's a blank drawing just with a title block,…as you can see on the screen at the moment.…Also be aware that sometimes when you bring…a new drawing into an AutoCAD Electrical project,…you'll get a funny, little dialog box prompt,…asking you to add a WD_TB attributes…or a WD_M attributes.…Those attributes link to the AutoCAD Electrical database…when you bring a new drawing in.…
So if you get one of those weird little dialog boxes pop up,…they're not weird at all,…just say OK to applying that attribute to the new drawing.…

6/8/2016Shaun Bryant demos the user interface and leads you step-by-step through learning how to draw the kind of precise, measured electrical drawings and schematics that form the basis of design communication in electrical engineering the world over. Learn how to design wiring diagrams, insert components and terminals, use PLC symbols in ladder diagrams, perform point-to-point wiring, create custom symbols, add annotations like title blocks to drawings, and run reports. In the final chapters, Shaun shows how to set up AutoCAD Electrical to your liking by adjusting settings and customizing the built-in templates, and demonstrates how to reuse, copy, export, and verify drawings.
