How to use the exercise files

- [Instructor] If you have access to the exercise files for this course, you can download them to your desktop. In chapter one, we're going to use a sample project that would have been installed with your program, which resides in the following location. Let's go to Windows Explorer, and under C, Users, this would be your user account, App Data. Now, make sure this file is not hidden. At default it will be hidden. You may have to check that visibility on. We'll continue App Data, Roaming, Autodesk, Autdesk AutoCAD P90 2017, R21.0, enu, and we have our sample projects in here, Sample Project, and the file that we use to open this is the Project XML. All the additional exercise files that we use in this course will reside in the folder exercise files which will be located on your desktop. These files have been structured so that there is one project for each chapter in the course, from chapter three to 12, and one named LinkedIn P90, which we will use in chapter's two and 13. When we work with AutoCAD P90, each project is completely self-contained in the main project folder. Let's open the chapter three equipment folder, and examine the contents. So, what you see here is the standard out of the box files that make up your project. It's critical that you do not move or modify any of the files in this folder, other than those contained in the P90 DWG folder as directed in the course. If we look in this folder, we'll see the drawing files that we'll be modifying during the course of chapter three. When we begin each chapter, we'll open the program, then navigate to the corresponding chapter project folder, and select the project XML. This is the file that will launch your project inside AutoCAD P90. So, enough talking. Let's get started.
