Flattening in model space and inserting on a layout

- AutoCAD has the capability of flattening 3D models directly in Model Space. To see how this works, click on the Model tab. Before we flatten the model, we need to view it from our chosen angle. So, for example, click on the left face of the View Cube to view it from this side. Then type "FLATSHOT". Enter. We have different choices of our destination. We can automatically create a block and then insert it here in Model Space. Or we could replace an existing block. That would be useful if you'd already done this before, and you'd made changes to the 3D model. You could redefine an existing block. In our case, let's choose the third radio button, Export to a File, so that we can insert this into the layout. Click this button, and navigate to the exercise files folder, and give it the name, "left". Save. And here you can choose a color for the lines and the line type if you want. And you can optionally choose to show the obscured lines. I'm not going to show them, so I leave that…
