Filtering vector data is another way Gordon demonstrates how to both increase performance and limit how a particular layer is shown in the Display Manager.
- [Instructor] Showing the subset of the GIS vector data…using filters can quickly limit the data you wish to see…or cut out those records you don't need.…For example, if you only wanted to see the roads…of a particular county, you could filter the layer…based on the county name.…Let's try that now.…Let's connect using Data, Connect to Data,…'cause we're going to connect an SDF file.…In this case it'll be called SDF Zoning.…Let's browse to the Zoning file.…Zoning sdf, we'll hit Connect.…
We'll see that the coordinate system is assigned…and you see that the schema's name is Zoning.…But before we click Add to Map,…we're going to click the tiny little triangle…next to Add to Map.…You will see another option.…It's called Add to Map with Query.…This gives you a query window before you even…bring data into AutoCAD Map.…We could filter out the data so we don't bring…the whole data set in at once, we only bring in a subset,…making our layer come in really quickly.…In this case we're going to filter by zone.…
What we're going to do is bring in the zone,…
