Extruding 3D shapes

- In this video, we'll start modeling a step of our staircase. We're going to move into 3D so let's change the workspace. I'll change it to the 3D Modeling workspace for better access to the 3D tools. Let's start by using the orbit tool. We can either find it over here on the navigation bar or type orbit into the command line. I'll sort of choose a nice three quarter view to look at our plan here. Now let's go up to the layers panel in the ribbon. We're done with the plan and so I'm going to lock it so we don't make any unintended changes. Then I'm going to choose step as the active layer. There's a couple ways to do this, essentially I want to create a 2D shape that represents the plan of a single step. I could either use the polyline tool, could type PL enter. Zoom in a little bit, click on the origin, snap to that intersection, switch to an arc, A enter. Then S for second point, enter. Click on that intersection, switch to line, line enter.
