In this video, see how to create a roof on top of the tower walls by sketching in a polyline, offsetting it, and turning it into a closed polyline. This is extruded along the angled path to generate the roof. You can finally visualize the model by turning
- [Instructor] The last thing that we need to model…in this entire project is the roof…which goes on top of the tower walls.…To work on this, I'm going to zoom in here,…and change the UCS so that it's on this surface.…I'll type UCS, enter, Y, enter enter.…So now the XY plane is on the surface.…I'll set layer zero as the current layer.…And draw a poly line to trace over this edge here.…
Going to snap it all the way around this shape…that we have here on the walls.…And I will also draw in a line going back…in this other direction to the top of the tower itself.…Now I'd like to isolate that layer zero…and work on it, so I'll type lay iso.…Click on that using selection cycling,…which will enable you to select the line in particular,…and then you can just work on that layer.…
Now down here we have the single line representation…of the roof.…I'd like to offset that, type O, enter for offset.…2, enter, for the distance.…Click on the poly line and then click above it…to offset that upward.…And now zoom in over here, and draw in a line…
