Exporting drawings for use with AutoCAD

- AutoCAD can open Inventor native dwg files, but if you have AutoCAD users who need to be able to edit all of the geometry inside of the drawing, Inventor's capable of exporting fully compatible AutoCAD dwg data. To do this, we just simply use the Application options menu, go to Export, and select Export to dwg. After we have selected our dwg files, we can use the options to choose how we want this data to be translated to AutoCAD. We can choose which file version of AutoCAD we want to use all the way back to AutoCAD 2000. If we need to go back farther than 2000, we can use dxf files as an export option. The export destination information page allows us to choose how the scaling will be done, what drawing sheets will be externalized, in this case, we only have one sheet, we can choose to only send out the model geometry. This is a particularly handy option if you're exporting flat pattern data and don't need the borders or dimensions for a cutting table. Another option that we have…
