Enhancing the model with common features

- Basic features like extrude and revolve can define the overall shape of a component but, when you need to add details, you'll be placing features on the part. In this case, we wanna place several features on this component to complete the design. The first one that I wanna place is the hole feature. I can do this through the Modify panel of the 3D model tab or, because holes are so common, I can right click and select Hole from the Marking menu. There are several different placement options for holes. I can place them concentric to a curved edge or a cylindrical face. I can place them based on sketch elements or points or I can use a linear placement to simply put a hole on a face and, as an option, locate it by selecting two edges. These edges do not have to be perpendicular from one another. We notice that there's a red arrow here so Inventor's expecting me to select a face.
