Join Thom Tremblay for an in-depth discussion in this video Editing a dimension style, part of Migrating from AutoCAD to Inventor.
- In addition to layer standards,…dimension styles are another area that are critical.…As we will see in this video, many of the settings…that you would normally adjust in AutoCAD…are also available in Inventor.…We'll see on the screen here…that we have our part detailed in inches.…Let's go to the Styles Editor, under the Manage tab,…and go to the Dimension styles themselves.…Right now we're using the default ANSI standard.…With a double click, all of the values…for that standard will appear.…For example we want more Precision so we'll simply change it…to a three place decimal.…
We can go to our Alternate Units…and we can even have it display alternate units…with our primary dimension.…We can change the position of text, the position of arrows.…We can also start modifying our text style.…As with AutoCAD text styles are defined separately…from the dimension styles that consume them.…In this case the way Inventor is structured,…I can simply say that I want to edit a text style,…save the changes I made to my dimension,…
