Editing an Inventor .DWG file with AutoCAD

- Autodesk Inventor has the option to create Inventor Native .DWG files. These .DWG files vary slightly from the AutoCAD .DWG file. But, AutoCAD can open these files and even add content to them. Let's see how this process works. Inside of AutoCAD, you open the Inventor .DWG file like you would any other .DWG file. In fact the Inventor .DWG file will even give you the preview to make sure it's the appropriate one. Once open, we can make the same type of modifications we would use in AutoCAD. For example, let's add a quick note to our Inventor drawing. We set our text type. And we'll say TEXT BY AUTOCAD. Now let's save that work and close our Inventor .DWG file. In Inventor, we can then open this file. And we can already see in the preview what appears to be the note from AutoCAD. It's a very simple workflow. This simple workflow makes it possible for AutoCAD users still in the process of migrating to Inventor to work with people that are further along in the process.
