Detailing a single object

- I'd like to detail a specific object, namely one of the sunshades that we see here in this detail bubble. However, the way the Detail tool works is it's simply a view of another projection. In order to make a view of the sunshade all by itself let's create a new base projection from model space. Instead of clicking a point, though, go to model space selection, press the down arrow and choose remove, make a crossing window selecting all of the solid objects then type A enter to add then make a crossing window around this sunshade up here. Two objects were selected, namely the sunshade frame and the lens. Press enter and you see the sunshade here attached to the cursor. You might be tempted to try different orientations here but you'll find that none of them gives an orthogonal view of the sunshade. And that's because the sunshade is at some angle with respect to the geometry of the frame and the original base drawing. So, we're gonna have to get a little creative here in order to…
