By fashioning a number of solid volumes matching the window openings, you can move them into position using point filters and set displacements to cut openings in the courtyard walls.
- [Narrator] If you look at the walls in the courtyard,…they're all solid right now.…And if you examine the sketches,…you'll see that there are windows in the courtyard.…We can see that in this section,…and we can also see that over here in this section.…The floor plan shows where the windows…are supposed to go here in the courtyard walls.…We have different size windows;…there's these standard size windows going all…the way around and we have some smaller windows…here in the tower.…
So, let's begin by examining this section right here…and let's sketch in the shape of the opening here.…I need to rotate UCS around the X axis…so that the XY plane is parallel to the sketch…and then I'll set the current layer to be "WALL2"…and then draw a rectangle around…that opening and extrude it.…I'll extrude the last object: L enter enter,…I'll extrude it back a short distance like that,…and then copy this object into position.…
And you can see there's actually…four windows in this sketch.…This one starts here but it's cut off…by this other wing of the building.…
