Cut small openings in courtyard walls
- [Instructor] We need to cut window openings in this wall and these are shown in the section over here. So I'll zoom in there, take a look at these small windows. We need to trace over them and before we can do that we need to rotate the ucs, so that the XY plane is parallel to the sketch. In this case, we can rotate the system around the Y axis. Type ucs, enter y, enter, enter to rotate the system so that now, the XY plane is parallel to the sketch. Then draw a rectangle on this window opening. Make sure Object Snap is on. And then Extrude the last object l, enter, enter. Extrude it back about six feet or so and then copy this object from the upper left corner to the upper left corner of each of the adjacent sketches, like that and then Union those solids together and move the object over and take a look at when it penetrates through that wall, you can just visually see it on both sides and then click to set its location and then subtract from the wall, enter, this tool that we…
