Creating a new sheet set

- [Instructor] We're starting another chapter now in our course and we're going to look now at working with the Sheet Set Wizard, now this tends to be the quickest way to generate a sheet set in AutoCAD and get started. The wizard's a really nice step-by-step guide on building a sheet set as well because all of the buttons, the file locations, everything else all in the same place it's just that little bit easier than trying to do it manually. So what we need to think about is creating a new sheet set, we've got a new drawing for you, it's called SheetSetWizard.dwg which is quite a snazzy title for a drawing it's not often you see that in an AutoCAD project, so the Sheet Set Wizard, I like that it kind of zings doesn't it really? So what we're going to do is create a new sheet set just around this particular drawing for now and then what we'll do as we work through the course you'll see how to add more drawings, more sheets, and so on. We're going to go to the View tab on the ribbon first of all obviously once you've got the drawing open, you can only use the Sheet Set Manager once you've got a drawing open, even if it's just a default button drawing. So we go to the View tab on the ribbon like so and there's our Sheet Set Manager that we saw in the previous chapter. So click on the Sheet Set Manager and this is what should happen when you first start up an AutoCAD with no sheet sets available, you should get a blank Sheet Set Manager like that. If you don't, it's defaulted to the previous DST file which you might have used for the previous chapter. If that's the case, just select the sheet set by right clicking on it and you're going to close that particular sheet set, you're just going to close it and you'll find that you end up with an empty list in the sheet list tab. Now we want to create a new sheet set, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to click on the down arrow here and I want new sheet set and as if by magic there you go, the wizard is on the screen, and we are at the begin stage of the sheet set. So we're going to create our sheet set either using an example sheet set which are provided with AutoCAD or we're going to use existing drawings, now in this case we're going to use existing drawings and we're going to use the SheetSetWizard.dwg file. As we go through each of the videos in this particular chapter, we're going to go through each step of the Sheet Set Wizard, so we've now got to the first step. In the next video we'll go to the next step and so on and so forth.
