Creating a 2D layout
- In this video, we'll get started by drawing a 2D plan of our staircase. Let's get started by clicking on Layer Properties, and we'll layout all the layers that we need for our project. Choose the New Layer button here. I'll create a layer for the plan. I'll also create a layer for the step, the railing, the center pole, and I'll choose colors for each of these layers to help differentiate them in the workspace. All right, we can close the Layer panel. In the drop-down in the ribbon, I'm going to choose Plan as our current layer, and then I'm gonna pan our drawing over so that the origin of our drawing is in the center of the screen. Let's create a circle to show the size of our staircase. We can either use the Circle toolbar up here that's found in the Draw panel, or you can type C for circle into the command line. I'll choose to start the center point of our circle at the origin; type 0, 0, enter. Then I'll type D, enter for diameter, and I'll specify the diameter as five feet. You…
