Converting meshes

- In this video we will learn how to import a 3ds mesh file into AutoCAD and convert it for use in our scale model. I have a mesh that will work really well for adding some landscaping to our model. It was created in a different modeling program and saved as a 3ds file. Now this is a file type that we can import into AutoCAD but only if the mesh is watertight. We can do a couple of things, we can either use the import command and at the bottom here you can see all the different kinds of file types that can be imported into AutoCAD. I'll cancel, we're going to use a more specific function. You type 3ds in, in the command line and this is a, essentially just a more specific file import action. You can see that I'm in Chapter 3 of the exercise files. We want to choose this low LowPolyBush, now click Open. Click on this Mesh1, I'm going to add it, and then choose OK. Alright, let's zoom out. We don't see anything in our work space. The 3ds in command imports to the origin and I'm guessing…
