Here, see how to project lines from two elevations to establish the form of a wraparound roof using point filters. You can then convert the lines to regions representing the underside of the roof surfaces.
- [Instructor] I'd like to focus on making this roof…that wraps around on two sides around the tower.…But we need the roof to meet up with…the tower that extends above it.…And right now the tower does not.…So I'm going to zoom in here.…And I can't use sub object modeling like I did before…to pull this up because it would pull up…the walls that wrap around.…I just want the tower to go up.…So I need to divide that and separate it…from the wraparound walls.…
And we can do that by zooming in here and drawing a line…across this opening from endpoint to endpoint.…Now I can use press pull and I can separately…pull this area up.…And I'll snap that to the top of the tower.…We'll deal with the tower roof later on.…Now I'll orbit around.…And take a look at this from this other angle.…Let's set the current layer to be the 3D roof layer.…
And the key to drawing this roof is…to get the ridge line drawn in 3D.…We have two depictions of that ridge line…in two different elevations adjacent.…Draw a line from the top of that ridge over…
