Attaching and overlaying XREFs

- [Instructor] We're staying in our xrefs.dwg file. And what I'm going to show you now, is how to attach an external reference file, an xref to your host drawing. In this case our xrefs.dwg file that we've already got open at the moment. Now, what I'd like you to do is just pan across to the right, like that. So we've got a nice big bit of space here on the left, you'll see why in a moment. And what we want to do is open up our External References palette. Now you can do this in a number of ways, you can go to the Insert tab on the ribbon, click on the little arrow there, that will open up the External References palette. I can also just select the xref like that and click on external references there, like we did in the previous video. That will also open up the palette. The quickest way though, if I just hit Escape to deselect the xref, is to come down here. Anytime you've got an xref attached, you'll get this…
