- [Instructor] Welcome to another AutoCAD tip and trick. Now what we're going to look at is reassociating dimensions with our geometry. Now when I say reassociating dimensions with our geometry, that does not include dimension associativity. Dimension associativity is what makes a dimension an object. So, if I hover over this 90 dimension here, you can see it's all one object. That's what dimension associativity does. It makes the arrow heads, the extension lines, the dimension line and the dimension text all into one object. When I say reassociate dimension, it means we're reassociating the dimension with the geometry, so the rectangle or the hexagon. So, we've got a new drawing for you. It's called Reassociate.dwg. You can download that from the library to follow along with this particular tip and trick. Now what happens quite often in AutoCAD drawings is the dimensions might get moved, misplaced, and so on.
