Adding a setting out point (SOP)
- [Instructor] We're staying in our Structural Grid.dwg file and as you can see I've left it in the same state as it was at the end of the last video. What we're going to look at now is using a fantastic little command in AutoCAD called the Donut command. And that doesn't automatically give you donuts and coffee for example. What it does give you is it gives you a little donut symbol on the screen which is fantastic for setting out points in your AutoCAD drawings. Now when you're placing your prefabricated unit into another drawing, perhaps a 3D model, perhaps another 2D drawing, it doesn't matter which one, you need to have a setting out point, a known point that you can use as a point of reference. So we're going to use the donut to represent that in our Structural Grid.dwg file. So what we're going to do first is make sure we're on the right layer.
