PCF to isometric
- [Narrator] When we create an isometric drawing, Plant 3D creates a PCF file. This is a commonly used type of text file that extracts all the component, line information, and dimensional information, extracts that from the 3D model and converts it into 2D schematic. While the PCF files are a byproduct of isoproduction in Plant 3D, they can be used for a number of other applications. PCF files can be imported into pipe stress analysis tools, and they can be used to run spool generation programs too. If you do have a PCF file, you can always use that to generate an iso even if you don't have the model that the PCF file was extracted from. So let's scroll out into Windows. And we're going to go to our desktop. Exercise files. And under PCF files here. Open this and we have a PCF file in here that's called 5687. And we're going to open that just using notepad.
