Locating components using Data Manager
- [Narrator] Searching for a particular valve or instrument in a full set of plant models is a pretty daunting task. It used to mean searching all the lines that have been modeled in every drawing in the project, looking for that one specific component. Watch how easy it is for us to locate the tags in our drawing using Data Manager. So, let's go ahead and we'll go open 07_04 DATA. So, I'm going to come and open Data Manager on our desktop, and I'm going to to make sure you're set to Plant 3D Project Data, and come down to look for the valves. So what I'm going to do, is I'm going to scroll through here, and I'm going to look in the long description until I find myself a placeholder valve. So, there's two that we have here; and if I want to find out where they are, maybe I've placed them in here expecting to have an updated vendor drawing for the actual component, and I've forgotten to insert it. And I see it listed here, it's very easy to find in the model. Just look for the line…
