Edit your project properties

- Once your project has been set up, don't forget you can always go back and add more information. Information such as the project description, the number, client information, all this can be easily modified during the project life cycle. As the projects develop, more information is usually gained. The project maybe moving from a front-end design into a detailed design. Project numbers can change. So, by having the ability to change this only once saves a lot of time in updating deliverables because all the changes that we make in the project setup are pushed out to the drawing files, too. So, let's just review. We're going to go up to our project manager. Project Setup. So we've taken a look at changing some of the paths. As we go we can modify the paths. We've looked at some of our project details, but let's just take a look at just again where we can go and update these changes. So, I'm going to come up to the project description. I'm going to call this "LinkedIn Learning Project", and I'm going to call this "123ABC". Information such as the project data, for example, if the client information there we can say this is LinkedIn Learning. Primary contact can be me. Project data. Let's take a look at some of the project data that we have in here. We can add things like an address. And the postal code is 93013. 93013. There we go. So, there are many of the things. We'll just say we can call this Project Managers, Lynda from Lynda.com. So anyway, these are just information data fields that we can fill in, again these can be customized. We'll look at this a little later in the lesson. But, just to remember, that when you are setting up your project, whatever you fill in here, we can set this up right at the beginning, but it's modifiable right through the life cycle of your project. By setting up data fields inside your drawing title blocks, we have data fields to store project information. We can save a lot of time by no longer having to locate manually changed attributes that were cited in our drawing title blocks and reports. If the basic project information updates, we can simply just update it here and have those changes push through into our project files.
