What you should know

- [Instructor] This course is designed to give you a basic understanding of the tools that AutoCAD for Mac provides. We will not be going into drafting concepts like orthographic projection or dimensioning technique. The goal is to give you a straightforward explanation of the features of AutoCAD for Mac. How to find them and how to use them. This course assumes that you have some basic drafting knowledge, but it is not required to find the course beneficial. If you are using an older version of AutoCAD for Mac than what I'm displaying here, you'll find the interface may be slightly different, or the dialogue boxes and menus might be slightly dissimilar to what you have on your screen. However, for the most part the features themselves and the techniques in this course should be version agnostic, as well as being discipline agnostic. Meaning it does not matter whether you're using AutoCAD for Mac for architecture, mechanical engineering, civil work or any other discipline. Throughout this course I'll be demonstrating the different tools and techniques using exercise files. I encourage you to download them to your desktop as I have here. If a video uses a specific exercise file, the title of that file will show at the beginning of the video. If for some reason the exercise files are not conveniently accessible, you can substitute your own files in order to follow along with the video.
