Using gradients

- [Instructor] Aside from hatch patterns made of just lines, we can use gradient fills for visual purposes. We'll find the Gradient tool here, and we can see that we can change the color, and if I click the swatch, we can see all of the different gradient patterns that we have access to, and there are quite a few. I kind of like this cylinder one, and I want to see how I can use it. I'm going to close the hatch tool, and I want to draw just a small cylinder here in the middle of the screen. I'm going to draw an ellipse at the top and the bottom, and I'm going to use the Axis Endpoint option of the Ellipse command, and just draw a little ellipse here. And then I'll use the Copy tool and copy it from the top to the bottom. Now I can use my Trim tool, trim out the excess lines, and there we have my rudimentary cylinder. Now I'll go grab the hatch pattern, in this case my gradient. Make sure that I grab my cylindrical pattern here, and then click inside, just like a hatch pattern. Now I…
