Trim and extend

[Instructor] Next up is the Trim and Extend command set. I call this a set because these two commands work together rather well. They allow me to lengthen or cut my geometry using other geometry in the drawing. Here, I have two lines crossing. So, I'm going to grab the Trim tool found here under the Modify tool set, and select my cutting edge. This is going to be my knife edge. I'll press Return and now I need to select the part of the line that I want to remove. So, if I select this part of the line, this segment will be removed. If I select this part, this half will be removed. I'll go ahead and click, and then press Return. I'm going to go back to my command, and this time I'm going to select these two line segments here and here, and press Return. If I choose this segment here, It's going to cut out the space in between the two knife edges, or in between my two cutting lines. And I'm left with two separate individual line segments.
