Solid primitives

- [Trainer] AutoCAD for Mac includes a series of basic shapes called solid primitives that we can use not only to create shapes, but also to combine and modify with other shapes to create more complex models. The basic solid primitives are found here on the modeling tab in the solid panel. Here we can see all of the solid primitives available to us. I'm not going to go through every single one of these, but I do want to touch on a few of the basic principles. For most of these, like box, cone, cylinder, what we're really doing is drawing a 2D shape and then giving it a third dimension. So, for example, for box, all I'm really doing is drawing a rectangle, just like I would in two dimensions, and then just adding that third dimension of height. For something like cylinder, I'm drawing a basic circle. I even have all of the options as if I were drawing a 2D circle. Things like 3 point, 2 point, tangent tangent radius.…
