- [Instructor] There are two different types of text entities in AutoCAD, single line text, also called D-text, and multi-line text, or M-text. Both are found here, under the Draw menu, under Text. I'm going to select Single Line Text for now. And now I'm going to pick a point to start my text. For a height, I can either click out here in space, or I can type in a specific numeric value. I'm going to type in one and press Return. For the rotation angle, I'm going to type zero and press Return. Now, I can start typing my text. And pressing Return at the end of each line. If however I press Return again without entering any new text, I'm actually kicked out of the command. Now, with D-text, each line is a separate line and a separate object. So, this can be rather handy when I'm looking to make some quick edits. So, I can double-click inside, quickly make any changes that I need to make, and then press Return.
