Relative coordinate entry
- [Instructor] As organized as absolute coordinate entry is, it's not always the most practical to work with within normal situations. Aside from the origin point, I find that personally most of the time I'm moving or referencing the existing geometry that I'm working with, which is not always in a normal absolute coordinate system. To this end, we can use relative coordinate entry which you will most likely be using quite a bit. Relative coordinate entry refers to using another point as a temporary origin point for reference. So in absolute coordinate entry, everything is calculated, X and Y coordinates, from the origin point zero comma zero. With relative, another point, in this case the last point that we entered, becomes a temporary origin point. We calculate the same X and Y distance from that previous point. So to get from one comma one to three comma two I need to use this as my temporary origin point and then calculate…
