- [Instructor] Plot styles manage the way that AutoCAD translates the line data of our objects to the lines on the printed page. I'll find these here under file, plot styles. This will open up a finder window to the location of all your system's plot files. Notice that we see STB and CTB files. We'll get into the difference of those in just a moment. But for right now, I want to find the monochrome CTB plot style here. I'm going to right-click and open that. And this is going to open this up in the plot style table editor. So monochrome prints all of the lines at the line weight that was set either by the layer or if you chose a specific line weight for certain objects in the properties inspector. The most common method used by most firms is to create their own proprietary plot style and they base it off the monochrome style, which uses colors to print different line weights.
