- Down, on the status bar, I have two other tools that can help me draw vertical and horizontal lines without typing in common angles, like 0 and 90 degrees. First, we'll see the ortho function found here. After enabling it and starting the line command, we can see that now I'm locked into only being able to draw horizontal and vertical lines. I can't draw a line in any other angle. If I disable the ortho mode, I'm now put back into my normal drafting mode where I can draw a line at any angle and here's a tip, as you're drafting, in my free mode as it is here and I want to draw a perfectly straight line, I can hold down the shift key on my keyboard and this will put me into a temporary ortho mode. As long as I'm holding down the shift key, I'll be locked into my orthographic mode of only being able to draw vertical or horizontal lines. As soon as I release the shift key on my keyboard, I'm put back into normal drafting mode. There are, however, other times where I need some more…
