- [Instructor] Now that we have all of that theory under our belt, we can actually start drawing some stuff. As we begin to draw, take note of the state of my status bar here at the bottom of your screen. Make sure that yours matches mine. I have everything turned off except for the grid display and dynamic input. To start, I'm going to go up to the tool sets and make sure I'm on the drafting tool set, and then click on line. As we've previously discussed, the dynamic input is a quasi-mirror of the command prompt, and we can see that auto-cad is asking me where I want to start my line. I'm going to click here out in space, and drag my cursor out. I'll click again and there's my line. Auto-cad stays in the line command and asks for another point which I'll give it by clicking, and it will continue in the line command until I either hit return, escape, the space bar on my keyboard, or I type in c for close, which is only available after my second line segment is drawn.
