- [Instructor] Groups are a simple way of connecting related geometry for ease of moving, copying and otherwise selecting objects. Here I have some basic office furniture that I want to copy to a few other locations. Right now these are four or five individual objects. So every time I want to copy them or move them, I need to select every single piece of geometry. For now, I'm going to type in the word group and then select my objects and then press return. Now we can see that if I hover over any part of this, I select any single piece of geometry, the entire group is selected. Now, I can zoom out and use my copy tool to copy my group around the office and press return. There are instances where I need to disable groups temporarily so that I can move or edit objects within a group. To do this temporarily, I can press and hold the control and H keys on my keyboard.
