- [Instructor] In the event that AutoCAD for Mac crashes, it will try to save your work so that you don't lose too much of your time. I say that it tries because it is not foolproof, and I would not recommend relying on it in place of simply regularly saving your work. However, things happen, and AutoCAD for Mac is trying to help you out. If AutoCAD does crash, when you restart the program, it should pop up with a window that looks like this. If you do not see this dialog box, you can go up under help and recover files. From here you should see any of the files that were open when AutoCAD crashed. For each file, you will see a time that AutoCAD did an auto save with the time and info for each save. If you aren't familiar, if you go to preferences under the application menu, under general, we have the option here of automatically saving every so often.
