- [Instructor] Now that we have the rest of the annotations added to our drawing, we have the leaders, callouts, the table with the door tags, the door schedule, we're ready to actually start adding some dimensions. Now, I like to place my dimensions equidistant away from my part itself, or in this case the plan. To do that, I typically draw a rectangle around the part, and then I offset it by a specific distance. So let's start with our rectangle. Grab my rectangle tool here. I'm going to pan and zoom in here just on the floor plan. I'm going to pick the upper left corner point here, and then I'm going to use my object snap tracking to hover over that endpoint there and hover over this endpoint here. Now, again, you can be as precise or as loose with this as you like, but I like to be precise since we have AutoCAD and we have all that power and the tools behind it.
